Walking Tours During the Martin Luther King Holiday Weekend

This January the Newport Historical Society will offer three of their most popular walking tours during the Martin Luther King holiday weekend, January 16-18, 2016. The schedule is:

January 16, 2016 at 11am
Rogues & Scoundrels
See where scoundrels lived, pirates profited and criminals were punished. Find out why this colony was known as “Rogues Island.”

January 17, 2016 at 11am
Discover Colonial Newport
Hear stories of remarkable entrepreneurship, African American heritage and religious diversity during Newport’s colonial period.

January 18, 2016 at 11am
Road to Independence
Riots and rebellions, enemies and allies! Learn about Newport’s role in the American Revolution.

Tours cost $15 per person, $10 for Newport Historical Society members and for active duty military with ID, $5 for children ages 12 and under. Tours depart, weather permitting, from the historic Brick Market at 127 Thames Street located at the foot of Washington Square in Newport.
